Factsheet on Thai Internet intermediary’s liability case (Prachatai director), verdict April 30

Thai Criminal Court is scheduled to read the verdict on the case that Chiranuch “Jiew” Premchaiporn, director of online newspaper Prachatai, is a defendant. The public prosecutors accused Chiranuch of violating Article 15 of Computer-Crime Act that she allowed comments deemed les majeste to be posted on Prachatai webboard for “too long” period. If Chiranuch is found guilty, she faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

The verdict will be delivered on April 30, 10 a.m. at the Criminal Court on Ratchada rd., room 910.
