ณ ศาลอาญา รัชดา เวลา 9.40 นาฬิกา ผู้พิพากษาประกาศเลื่อนการอ่านคำพิพากษา คดีที่ จีรนุช เปรมชัยพร ผู้อำนวยการเว็บไซต์ข่าว ประชาไท เป็นจำเลย ในข้อหามีเจตนาจงใจสนับสนุนหรือยินยอมให้มีข้อความที่เป็นความผิดตามประมวลกฎหมายอาญา มาตรา 112 ปรากฏอยู่ในเว็บบอร์ดประชาไท เลื่อนไปเป็นวันที่ 30 พฤษภาคม 2555 ด้วยเหตุผลว่า เอกสารที่เกี่ยวข้องกับคดีมีจำนวนมาก และต้องการใช้เวลาอ่านเอกสารเพิ่ม

เมื่อทราบว่า การอ่านคำพิพากษาถูกเลื่อนไป ทำให้ผู้มารอสังเกตการณ์การอ่านคำพิพากษา จากสถานทูต, สื่อต่างประเทศ และองค์กรสิทธิ จำนวนกว่า 100 คนต่างแยกย้ายกันกลับ

“หลังจากที่รอมาแล้วสามปี ต้องรออีกเดือนหนึ่งก็ไม่นานเท่าไหร่หรอก” จีรนุช กล่าว กับเครือข่ายพลเมืองเน็ต

ชาซาด อาหมัด จาก Bytes for All องค์กรเพื่อสิทธิมนุษยชนซึ่งโฟกัสด้านข้อมูลข่าวสาร จากประเทศปากีสถาน กล่าวว่า เขาเพิ่งบินถึงกรุงเทพฯ เมื่อ 8 โมงเช้าวันนี้ เพื่อมาให้กำลังใจกับจีรนุช

“ไม่ว่าผลการตัดสินจะออกมาอย่างใด ย่อมมีผลกระทบต่อสถานการณ์เสรีภาพอินเทอร์เน็ต และสิทธิมนุษยชนโดยรวม และกระทบต่อประเทศอื่นในภูมิภาค เช่น ปากีสถาน” ชาซาดกล่าวกับเครือข่ายพลเมืองเน็ต

ถึงแม้ว่าจะเลื่อนการอ่านคำพิพากษาออกไป ชาซาดกล่าวว่า เขาก็จะบินมากรุงเทพฯ เพื่อมาให้กำลังใจจีรนุชอีกครั้งในเดือนพฤษภาคม

The Criminal Court postponed the verdict’s reading of Prachatai Director Chiranuch Premchaiporn’s case from April 30 to May 30, 2012, 10am, giving the reason that the judges need more time to study the documents related to the case.

After learning that the verdict was postponed, more than 100 trial observers from embassies, Thai and foreign media, and Thai and International rights groups, disperse from the court room.

“After having been waiting for three years, just another month is ok,” Chiranuch told Thai Netizen Network.

Shahzad Ahmad, Country Director of Bytes for All, Islamabad-based human rights organization with a focus on Information and Communication Technologies said he flew to Bangkok this morning to attended the verdict reading of Chiranuch’s case.

“The verdict will surely have repercussion on human rights and Internet freedom in the region, such as Pakistan,” Ahmad told Thai Netizen Network.

Ahmad added that he would fly to Bangkok again to express solidarity with Chiranuch end of May.
