About Thai Netizen Network

Who are we?

We are a group of people gathered as a network of internet users. We stand for rights to access, express opinions, show expressions, and protect our civil rights and liberty of online media.

Our stands

We gathered for policy campaigning in order to maintain, campaign and protect cyber-liberty which leads to netizens’ right and freedom of online media on 5 basic principles.

  1. Right to access with respect to the privacy of the other.
  2. Freedom of expression with respect to the human dignity and tolerance
  3. Right to privacy and free from surveillance
  4. Self-regulation, promoting responsibility among Internet citizens and stakeholders
  5. Common Property

Recommendation to the authorities and public on internet regulations and law enforcement.

  1. Government needs to employ regulations not control and support the participatory mechanism for every part of society that involved.
  2. Parliament should amend Computer Crime Act B.E.2550 for a clear classification on computer criminal and liberty to communicate. However, Thailand should have the process to protect netizens'rights and liberty of online media relating to international standards.
  3. Political Party, Political group and public shouldn’t threaten netizens rights and liberty of online media with political criterion, law enforcement criterion or using the issue as an instrument for political overthrow without reasons and respectation of international standard on liberty to communicate through internet.

Who can be a member?

Everybody, Every gender, Every age, Every occupation, Every political/economic point of views who access and use internet with confidential on basic fundamental of individuals and society equity in expressing ideas, showing expression and self-regulating by sharing responsibility.

Our political point of views

Netizens network respect every political point of views but we believe on democracy system which guarantee the liberty to communicate and human rights.

How can you apply for membership?

Only send your e-mail address. You can be an anonymous member or exposed member. We will gather you in a contact list and send you update information and our group activities.

Group’s activities

  • Organize group discussion, seminar about netizens’right and liberty of online media.
  • Official statement, press conference of our group standing points
  • Coaching and developing netizens’right and citizen media skills
  • Raising fund and provide legal consultant to netizens who is effected by the law under Free Thai Netizens program.
  • Follow, participate in Computer Crime Act B.E.2550, ministerial regulations and any other relevant law.
  • Study, follow, develop database about netizens and liberty of online media
  • Arrange forum to exchange international lessons for internet regulation policy
  • Finding cooperation with other group in order to become future partner

Group structure

Netizens network loosely gathered netizens who love in freedom. Netizens has 7 committees for operational construct a group in the long term. We have experimental program to construct for 6 months.
